Web Based Invoicing

Accounts has always been my downfall and I am sure like many other freelancers out there, Iam not the only one that hates paperwork! I usually end up leaving invoices, expenses and other accounts related materials stacking up on my desk, looking for an excuse, something, anything to not have to do it. If that sounds familier then you too probably get to the the end of the month and wish you just pulled your finger out and filled everything as and when it came in to save time. Yer right…

Well now there is an answer, a web based invoicing system that simply works, it is as if the freshbooks muchkins have picked their way into my brain and literally covered every option I would every imagine I needed. The best part about this system though is that it is extremly user friendly and that of course means less time to use and more time to focus on my business.

To start off, you can create a FREE account online, no payments, no catch…but be warned…once you have taken the free account and got started, I will almost guarantee that you will be hooked. Anyway, so you can create your free account in literally 2 minutes, then login, create a client and start billing. The interface is laid out really neat, hmm I dont like that word, but it is, really neat. Everything is in place and as a developer I like things this way, of course I also like to explore, so I click the clients tab, now I can create a new client. Seems logical and as if by magic, as soon as I click save client, and I am already looking for the button to invoice, a notification appears asking if I would like to invoice the client now. Magic! thats just the beginning, log in your self to see what they offer.

Freshbooks is a fantastic way to reduce your time in setting up accounts, remembering to bill your clients monthly, invoicing and even for generating reports at the end of the month or tax period. There is so much more that this amazing web based invoicing system has to offer and by making it simple makes it easy to use and easy to start billing some money!

Content Sliders – Dynamic Content

If you view our website design company coolcreation.co.uk you see that our pages slide from right to left as you navigate through the website.

Content sliders are are great way to add some interactive elements to your website without losing content in flash based files.

You can create some really great effect and here is a list of some of our favourites;

DHTML Featured Content Slider 2.4

http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex17/featuredcontentslider.htm

Offers a simple slider that fades between each area, this script allows you to also set autoscroll, works well in creating a small gallery too.

Featured Content Slider

This is one of our favourites and you could see it working really well as a news slider, the effect is really easy on the eye sliding each panel in above the last. Looks great!

Coda Slider

http://www.ndoherty.com/demos/coda-slider/1.1.1/#1

Originally the basis for our company website, Coda Slide will slide content in to the DIV from right to left with a seamless motion effect. You can also set links from within the page to slide the content across. After trying out this script and alterations we found the only downside was trying to use the script with a width of 100%, this caused a bug for us and simply would not work at 100% so we moved on to the next one…

jFlow 1.0

http://www.gimiti.com/kltan/wordpress/?p=32

So here is the script we used to create the sliding effect of our company website, the slider can be set as a fluid width, perfect to slide the content across a whole page.

jFlow is super lightweight because it is only 1.9kb minified!

jQuery.ScrollTo

http://www.freewebs.com/flesler/jQuery.ScrollTo/

A slightly different type of scroller that will glide across to different areas of a grid that are all made up with HTML rather than just from left to right.

Also be sure to try out the Table of contents box links at the top for a great way to scroll the page.

jQuery.SerialScroll

3 great examples on how the jquery serial scroll can be used.

MooTools Interval Slider

Great for auto scrolling content with an excellent fade in effect.
