A Powerful jQuery Scrolling Plugin – PageScroller

PageScroller is a slick jQuery plugin for scrolling web pages nicely and smoothly.

It is a very flexible plugin, can integrate into any page easily and auto-create a navigation that sits in the sidebars or at the top.

Clicking each navigation item ends up in a scrolling that gets the user to the related section.

The plugin can also display top and bottom arrows for browsing through the sections one-by-one.

There are several customization option including the scrolling speed, offset and callbacks.

Centurion: A PHP Content Management Framework (Zend-Powered)

Centurion is an open source application which is both a fully-functional CMS and a base/framework for building project-specific content management/admin systems.

It is built on top of Zend and comes with features like user/comment/navigation management, social sign-in, internal search and more besides the handling of content.

A single installation can control multiple sites and the sites can have multiple languages.

Centurion comes with an intuitive datagrid that works with any types of custom data and has capabilities like smart filtering, easy search, sorting, paging, ordering and bulk handling.

For creating + editing data, a powerful form module exists which you can create a form with your own data model. It has built-in components like rich text editor, multi select, switcher, multi upload, datepicker, error messages.

There are also many other re-usable components that will ease creating such a CMS system including caching, file handling, feed generation, lazy loading and much more.

Truncating HTML With JavaScript Without Losing Markup – Cutter.js

We sometimes need to display a shorter version of a text/content so that it fits to the layout as expected (like the "read more" links shown for truncated content).

Cutter.js is a JavaScript class that allows us to accomplish this on the client-side without losing markup.

The class cuts the content to the number of requested words and if needed puts a link to open the full content again and, if wanted, places a link to open the full content.

It is a standalone + lightweight resource (1.5kb gzipped) and works cross-browser.

Instant CRUD Interfaces With PHP (CodeIgniter): GroceryCrud

For data-driven web applications, we usually create an admin interface for managing this data where many parts of it are actually about listing records within a grid.

GroceryCrud is a CodeIgniter-powered resource that can auto-generate a fully-functional create/read/update/delete interface very quickly.

Once it is integrated into a CodeIgniter installation, a new grid with CRUD features can be created with only a few lines of code and it can have pagination, sorting + search, all with Ajax.

The generated data-entry forms can have both server-side and client-side validation where custom rules can be integrated easily.

It is possible to only use the desired columns and there are callbacks almost everywhere for further customizations.

An Infinite jQuery Slider Plugin With Modern Effects – Sequence

Sequence is a jQuery plugin for sliding content without a default theme but leaving the complete control to you.

Any type of content can be used and they are displayed in an infinite slider logic.

It uses a semantic markup and supports responsive layouts + touch devices and swiping.

There are various unique transitions built with CSS3 (which requires modern browsers) and degrades gracefully for older browsers.

Sequence has options for controlling the functionality including the control of prev-next buttons, auto-play being on/off, the slide to be displayed on initial load, transition types and more.

Also, there are callbacks on every level interaction for further customizations.

When designing anything with content (websites, brochures, etc.), if you don't have the real content, using Lorem Ipsum is the most common way to fill those spaces.

However, for anyone who designs regularly and needs such filler text, it is pretty boring to use Lorem Ipsum again and again.

If you want to try an alternative to Lorem Ipsum, there are several web-based generators which are easy-to-use, customizable and, usually, fun. Check them out:
